Hello! I'm Laura, the FOUNDER OF THE ONE Million Women Walking MOVEMENT.
Walking saved my life three times. It helped me navigate the uncertainty and emotional turmoil of divorce—keeping depression at bay and becoming my daily sanctuary. It was a key to restoring my health after mold poisoning left me depleted and struggling. And during solo quarantine, when I was immunocompromised and isolated for months, walking became my moving meditation—a life-affirming practice that reconnected me to my body, mind, spirit, and the healing power of nature.
This is why I walk. This is why I lead.
As the founder of One Million Women Walking (1MWW) and leader of The Walking Women (TWW), I’ve built a movement rooted in the power of walking to transform lives. I speak and lecture across the country, sharing the science and soul of walking—how it improves physical health, eases stress, fuels creativity, and fosters deeper connections.
When I'm not walking or talking about walking, you’ll find me reading (pretty much everything), spending time with my family, (especially my granddaughter), camping, hiking new and old trails, traveling, or stargazing under the night sky, connecting with the Universe.
I am, of course, a devoted daily walker—a Walking Woman.
Join me in this beautiful walk through life, where we prioritize our health and well-being because we deserve to live happy, health, long lives. I can’t wait to walk with you.
